Job Description

This is a senior management role supporting commercial operations at a shipyard.

  • Take charge of executing strategies to meet revenue and margin targets for ship repairs and conversions.
  • Handle enquiries from customers and manage competitive quotations/tariffs for the yard.
  • Supervise a team of estimators and commercial invoicing officers to ensure accurate and timely duties discharge.
  • Follow-up tenders with customers and agents, negotiating contracts/projects.
  • Manage client relationships at the yard, submitting reports as required.
  • Work with the Yard Operations team to maintain an optimal mix of vessel types/scopes of work to maximise yard utilisation.
  • Ensure internal stakeholders adhere to contractual obligations, determining when processes violate regulations.
  • Assess risks and make recommendations based on analysis of factors affecting business situations.
  • Provide functional and management support in Change management, including negotiation/settlement of Change/Variation Orders with clients.
  • Review existing company procedures/policies on commercial management, providing constructive feedback for refining/updating procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering field or Diploma with relevant substantial experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in commercial roles at a Shipyard, including estimation/invoicing.
  • Team management experience.
  • Conversant in Microsoft applications (Excel/Word/PPT).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and/or Power BI.
