Database Administration Specialist

This is a key role within our database operations, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our databases.

The Database Administrator will be accountable for managing database security, user access, and compliance to guarantee data integrity and confidentiality. They will also implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and other tools to minimize downtime and data loss.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Security: Manage database security, user access, and compliance to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and other tools to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Monitoring and Performance: Monitor database health, performance, and capacity planning to identify areas for improvement and optimize resource utilization.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain shell scripts for automating routine DBA tasks such as backups, patching, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Automated Solutions: Design and implement automated solutions for database provisioning, configuration management, and deployment to streamline operational processes.
  • Communication: Utilize strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide recommendations to ensure optimal application performance with Oracle.

Additionally, this role requires working on 24x7 rotational shifts and providing weekend support as needed, while being flexible to meet current and future business needs.

Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle databases and related technologies.
  • Experience with database administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash or perl.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
