
Senior Family Engagement Specialist

The key roles of this position include engagement and assessment, goal setting and intervention, evaluation and documentation, and collaborative partnerships/community network.
- Engage in evidence-based practices when facilitating family sessions or community engagement sessions.
- Collate and consolidate information about the child and family from relevant professionals and sources in the school.
- Establish rapport with parents and use various strategies to engage them effectively.
- Facilitate parents' understanding of program, profile of child in different settings, and triangulate information with recommendations from the team.
- Conduct a holistic bio-psycho-social assessment of child's and family's needs, risks, and strengths for intervention.
- Document all necessary information for enrollment in the program and provide relevant resources for family/caregivers.
- Communicate effectively to parents in verbal and/or written form.
- Participate in case discussion by providing information about child and family strengths and needs and identify possible care plans required for the child and/or family.
- Work collaboratively with community agencies to ensure comprehensive case management for families.
- Identify and establish relevant resources available within caregivers' support system, in school and community required for child and family to maintain child's participation in school and DS-LS intervention to maximize child's potential.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation and communicate information effectively to relevant professionals.
- Evaluate and identify areas required for follow-up (e.g., referral to appropriate internal and/or external resources).
- Demonstrate knowledge of available community resources.
- Utilize appropriate community resources to support child and/or family.
- Negotiate with relevant stakeholders and partners for collaborative problem-solving.
- Diploma in Social Work Service or Early Childhood Education.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the community setting with an understanding of working with families with young children.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Initiative and ability to work independently and yet be a good team player.
- Organized and systematic worker, motivated and self-driven to help meet needs within given corporate guidelines and available resources.
