Job Title: Strategic Project Coordinator

Job Overview:

This role oversees the daily operations of a strategic project's project management office (PMO) and is a member of the project management and change management office (PMCO).

The ideal candidate will support the project director and project manager in delivering a comprehensive program consisting of multiple applications with a specific scope over several years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the project management plan, encompassing project scope, objectives, assumptions, critical success factors, governance structure, vendor management, high-level project schedule, deliverables, budget, risks, communication plan, issue management, etc.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities in the program management office (PMO), including project governance and tracking of milestones and completeness of documentation.
  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders on project progress, issues, risks, resources, and budgets.
  • Act as secretary for the project, managing meeting coordination, preparation, recording action items, decisions, and ensuring follow-up on assigned tasks.
  • Monitor and manage new risks and issues throughout the project implementation life cycle.
  • Report new risks, issues, and progress of mitigation/actions to the user workgroup/project steering committee/project sponsor.
  • Elevate new risks and issues, when necessary, to the project steering committee/project sponsor for attention and resolution.
  • Implement a communication plan to ensure various stakeholders are updated and aligned.
  • Manage project health and maintain project governance standards and guidelines.
  • Establish and enforce the change control process on requirements, performing impact assessments to budget, resource, and schedule when there is a change of scope.
