The Research Fellow will be responsible for conducting research in the field of infectious diseases, specifically focusing on the application of phage biology to develop recombinant phages for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. This includes:
  • Carrying out standard microbiology techniques, bacterial cultures, and phage production, isolation, characterization, etc.
  • Genetic manipulations/engineering of selected bacteriophages
  • Responsible for the phage recombinant work in the lab
  • Bacterial cultures
  • Phage target deconvolution
  • Designing and conducting experiments including data collection and analysis
  • Summarizing and presenting data in lab meetings
  • Developing new research techniques and approaches
  • Maintenance of inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables
