Daily Responsibilities

Leadership and Project Oversight:

Supervise a team of software engineers and IT specialists, offering guidance and support to promote professional growth and development. Collaborate with the global analytics product development team to contribute effectively. Direct projects from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and budget. Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address issues, and generate solutions to technical challenges. Apply agile project management techniques to optimize development workflows and foster a culture of ongoing improvement.

Technical Input and Development:

Actively engage in coding and architectural design, particularly utilizing the Microsoft technology stack (C#, ASP.NET, MS SQL, Azure, DevOps). Oversee the design, development, and upkeep of software applications while ensuring compliance with system specifications and organizational standards. Perform code reviews and uphold standard coding practices within the team.

Technology Stack Oversight:

Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across software initiatives utilizing Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud services. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, enhancing deployment practices and minimizing time-to-market. Stay informed on technology trends and updates relevant to our core tech stack, recommending and executing enhancements and innovations.

Stakeholder Communication:

Effectively communicate with diverse stakeholder groups, translating technical details into business language. Collaborate closely with other department heads to ensure technological advancements align with business objectives and strategies. Report on technology strategy and progress to senior management.

Unique Aspects of This Role

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on IT Project Leader to establish and guide our global technology team while actively engaging in project development. This position is ideal for a technology leader who excels in managing both personnel and projects, with a robust background in the Microsoft technology stack. The successful candidate will not only oversee the development team but will also contribute to coding, architecture, and ensuring high-quality software solutions while collaborating with a global team.

Key Skills and Experience for Success

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field. At least 7 years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial capacity. Proven track record in managing technology teams and software projects focused on delivering complex analytics products. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, including but not limited to Azure, DevOps, C#, .NET, and MS SQL Server. Familiarity with implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a solid understanding of software architecture and design. Strong leadership capabilities and experience in an Agile development environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in product development within the Insurance sector is a plus.
