Marine Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Operations Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned equipment, ensuring seamless operations and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and disseminate voyage orders and instructions, guaranteeing compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Navigate vessel/cargo stowage agency nominations and appointments, fostering strong relationships with key partners.
  • Ensure all assigned voyages are executed according to defined parameters, minimizing risks and optimizing outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of voyage details in IMOS and other systems, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • Interface with Commercial schedulers, charterers, agents, terminals, vessel/barge owners/operators, and tanker brokers to optimize voyage logistics.
  • Collaborate with Loss Control to mitigate cargo quality or quantity impairment and minimize exposure.
  • Monitor bunker consumption, heating, tank cleaning, and ECA zone expenditure to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage all aspects of voyage costs, cargo documentation, and Hire payments, freight invoices, and secondary voyage costs verification.
  • Represent the organization with professionalism, building strong relationships with carriers, terminal personnel, and internal/external contacts.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Global Vessel Incident Reporting & Crisis Monitoring Plan and execute duties accordingly.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Broad knowledge of marine transportation business, including marine logistics, dispatching, and general marine transportation processes.
  • Experience with Dry Bulk operations.
  • Fundamental understanding of marine risk and exposures to marine liability.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, fostering personal learning and knowledge sharing.
