NS-Themed Gallery Development Professional

This is a 2-year renewable/convertible contract role as part of the team that conceptualises, strategises and develops a world-class NS-themed gallery (NSG) till its opening in 2028. The NSG aims to be a world-class exhibition that imparts audiences with an understanding of Singapore's immutable vulnerabilities, the importance and significance of NS, and why we ourselves must defend Singapore.

Main Responsibilities:Programme Planning and Implementation
  • We are seeking a skilled individual to develop a holistic and integrated public programming strategy and plan to complement NSG exhibitions for all year-round activations.
  • Candidates will collaborate with curatorial teams to put together innovative programmes that meet diverse audiences' needs.
  • The successful candidate will work with stakeholders on collaboration opportunities and programming efforts such as learning journeys with schools and relevant educational institutions.
  • Evaluating programme and outreach effectiveness, and managing audiences' feedback, to inform future offerings is essential.
Volunteer Management
  • Developing a stable of roles for volunteers to take up at the museum; planning and operationalising the training and other requirements needed to ensure volunteers are ready and able to contribute to the NSG is crucial.
  • Candidates will develop and implement volunteer policies, role descriptions, training materials, and evaluation tools.
  • Recruiting, screening, and onboarding volunteers for various roles across the NSG is key.
  • Planning and hosting volunteer appreciation events and recognition programmes is also important.
  • Coordinating internally across departments to assess volunteer needs, ensure effective placement and supervision is necessary.
Business Development
  • Supporting AD (NS Gallery) to identify and form strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance NSG visibility and impact is vital.
  • Candidates will implement strategies to diversify revenue streams and business opportunities.
  • Monitoring and analysing performance metrics for business initiatives is essential.
  • Supporting AD (NS Gallery) to develop retail and merchandise strategy and plans that tie in with the overall branding and objectives of the NSG and NS Square is also necessary.
  • Developing and operationalising viable physical and online gift shops is key.
Fundraising and Sponsorship
  • Supporting AD (NS Gallery) to identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, and foundations, including planning and organising engagement events/opportunities is crucial.
  • Candidates will develop compelling sponsorship proposals and customised partnership packages.
  • Planning and executing donor events and annual giving programmes is essential.
  • Developing and operationalising attractive Membership programmes for the NSG, to encourage key behaviours & achieve key outcomes is also necessary.
  • Planning and executing fundraising campaigns is key.
  • Ensuring compliance internally and externally (with funders' requirements) is vital.
