Restaurant Operations Manager Job Description

Our restaurant is seeking an experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management and be able to effectively manage staff, maintain high quality standards, and provide exceptional customer service.

The successful Restaurant Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Presenting menus, taking orders, suggesting and recommending food and drinks to customers.
  • Attending to customer needs and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ensuring the quality of dishes before serving.
  • Responsible for table arrangement and cleanliness in the restaurant.
  • Cashier duties.
  • Creating and updating wine lists in coordination with Executive Chefs; recommending food and wine pairings; advising guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices.
  • Negotiating purchase prices with vendors.
  • Beverage inventory and costing management.
  • Ensuring smooth running of areas and restaurant by carrying out tasks in a reasonable time frame.

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum 4 years management experience in Food & Beverage industry.
  • Sound leadership qualities and ability to manage service staff.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; able to build lasting relationships with guests.
  • Good organizational and management skills.
  • Experience in Indian Restaurant and Tamil Speaking also preferable.
