The primary role of this position is to oversee and cater to the needs of our shelter's residents. Key responsibilities include assisting in programs, managing volunteers, performing housekeeping duties, ensuring security and safety, and providing support during emergency situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated individual who can assist with:

  • Attending to the needs of residents, including receiving new admissions and allocating rooms and resources as needed;
  • Supervising residents to ensure their safety and well-being, including helping with childcare when mothers are attending programs or sessions;
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of programs for residents, including working with volunteers and accompanying residents on outings and events;
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order within the shelter, including cleaning and setting up rooms, conducting routine room checks, and supporting the residential supervisor in managing rations and donations-in-kind;
  • Providing security and safety services, including performing guardhouse duty, monitoring resident attendance and movement records, and reporting incidents to management;

This role requires a mature and flexible individual who can work weekends and night shifts, including three shifts per week. A secondary level education and 2-3 years of relevant experience are preferred. The ability to live on-site as a residential staff member is also necessary.
