Baggage Handling System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Baggage Handling System Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the baggage handling system.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering, with relevant experience in material handling or automation. You will also possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the baggage handling system design, processes and scope of work for operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with appointed contractors to ensure routine preventive and corrective maintenance activities are executed as planned.
  • Conduct real-time monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and data analysis to detect abnormalities in system performance.
  • Oversee routine tasks including conducting server reboots and managing planned system switchovers.
  • Perform inspections to assess equipment health and operation on ground.
  • Manage day-to-day operational issues and system diversions effectively.
  • For incidents, make decisions on system diversion to address operational issues and allow business continuity.
  • Mobilise and deploy manpower resources to facilitate effective recovery efforts to minimise operational disruptions.
  • Provide timely incident reporting and real-time updates to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience in material handling or automation preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environment and make quick, informed decisions.
