IT Operations Director Job Description

The role of IT Operations Director is a key position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of IT services. As a seasoned professional in this field, you will lead a team of experts and be accountable for ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems.

This leadership role requires an individual with exceptional skills in managing teams, identifying and resolving critical IT issues, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Major Incident Managers, Problem Managers, and Change Managers in resolving complex IT issues.
  • Ensure timely recovery of IT services during major incidents (severity 1 & 2).
  • Closure of incident and problem tickets, meeting SLAs.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders during major incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to restore services during incidents.
  • Oversee the Problem Management process and produce reports on Root Cause Analysis and SLA measurement.
  • Drive flawless execution of the Change Management process.
  • Evaluate IT Operations contract/service provider's performance and establish improvement plans.
  • Work closely with monitoring teams to prevent major incidents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 10+ years' experience.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience interacting with senior management.
  • Able to manage different priorities and adapt to new challenges.
  • Experience working in an infrastructure technology environment is highly desirable.
