**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead the development of our autonomous mobile manipulation robot's manipulation system. The ideal candidate will lead motion planning, grasp planning, vision-guided manipulation, and safety-critical control of robotic arms and end-effectors.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and Implement Robotic Manipulation Pipelines: Utilize MoveIt, ROS 2, and C++ to develop sophisticated robotic manipulation pipelines that drive innovation in autonomous systems.
  • Develop Vision-Guided Manipulation: Design and implement vision-guided manipulation for detecting shapes of objects, ensuring accurate and efficient grasping and manipulation.
  • Optimize Path Planning: Develop optimized path planning algorithms to ensure collision-free arm motions in tight spaces, enhancing overall system performance.
  • Implement Force-Torque Control and Compliant Motions: Design and implement force-torque control and compliant motions for safe interaction with surfaces, guaranteeing robust and reliable operation.
  • Architect Behavior Tree-Based Task Execution: Develop behavior tree-based task execution architectures to optimize manipulation workflows, streamlining operations and improving efficiency.
  • Integrate Safety Monitors: Integrate safety monitors into the manipulation stack to ensure seamless and secure operation, minimizing risk and maximizing performance.
  • Collaborate with Embedded Teams: Collaborate with embedded teams to ensure low-latency communication between manipulators and sensors, driving real-time coordination and optimization.
  • Conduct Real-World Testing: Conduct extensive real-world testing and refine manipulation robustness, validating system performance and reliability.
  • Develop APIs for UI Dashboards: Develop APIs to interface with UI dashboards, providing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for operators and stakeholders.

**Required Skills & Qualifications:**

  • PhD/MS in Robotics, Computer Science or Equivalent Domain: A strong foundation in robotics, computer science, or an equivalent domain is essential for this role.
  • 5+ Years of Experience in Robotic Manipulation: Proven experience in robotic manipulation is required, with a focus on design, development, and deployment.
  • Expertise in MoveIt, ROS 2, and Motion Planning: Expertise in MoveIt, ROS 2, and motion planning is crucial for developing advanced robotic manipulation capabilities.
  • Strong C++ Skills with Real-Time Robotic Control Experience: Strong C++ skills and experience with real-time robotic control are necessary for developing high-performance robotic manipulation systems.
