Culinary Team Member

Job Scope
- Manage a kitchen section with the assistance of junior chefs.
- Prepare and cook food to meet restaurant standards.
- Develop and supervise junior chefs on section.
- Implement waste control measures.
- Control and rotate kitchen stock.
- Complete kitchen cleaning schedules.
- Understand restaurant administration, including docket procedures and food labeling.
- Have detailed knowledge of the menu.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance issues to relevant parties.
- Meet restaurant and menu standards at all times.
- Produce food to the highest standards.
- Minimize waste and use stock items correctly.
- Be able to describe dishes in detail.
- Meet health and safety requirements and complete relevant documentation.
- Support senior chefs and colleagues.
- Run a smooth and efficient section, completing tasks on time.
- Provide regular training and coaching to junior chefs.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Culinary Arts.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a full-service kitchen, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
- Food hygiene and safety certification.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Full understanding of the role and ability to carry it out as described.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Clear and concise communication, with active listening and consideration for others' needs.
- Ability to consider the bigger picture and seek guidance when needed.
