The Compl Bus Control Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Participates from inception through implementation, in cross-functional or cross business issues designed to ensure business compliance with laws, regulations, and policy requirements across key/complex risk levels.
  • Utilizes Issue Management processes and project management methodology from the initiation, planning, control requirements, execution, and closing phases of each issue; end results may include improved productivity, technology, processes, cost savings, and controls.
  • May support any area of the business (organizationally, regionally or product-wise) from an issue/project perspective; regular engagement with Senior Business Level Officers, Legal, Risk, and Compliance regarding complex matters.
  • Initiates and develops relationships with others throughout the business unit and the company in order to identify and understand business needs
  • Implement solutions to improve effectiveness and results

  • At least 5 years of prior experience in areas relating to Audit, Compliance, Risk, Business Controls or other related experience.
  • Excellent project management, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.
  • Highly motivated, independent and able to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadline. Individual with desire to learn and teach others, positive energy and attitude.

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Coordinate and support the review of business processes and controls for Lending Business, both at the inception of new processes and controls, and when these undergo material change, including appropriate linkage with the MCA.
  • Coordinate the overall MCA and Annual Risk Assessment (ARA) processes for the Lending business and functions, track their status, ensure timely completion, and escalate exceptions.
  • Support the business in performing its ARA based on the analysis of internally raised risks and issues (management-raised issues, Compliance review issues, Internal Audit review issues etc) and externally raised risks and issues (regulatory issues, KPMG observations, etc). Perform a review of the business' PRCs (Processes, Risks, and Controls) for quality assurance and completeness.
  • Perform sampling-based quality assurance on MCA results, analyze MCA issues and trends, work with the business on implementing appropriate corrective actions, and share best practices.
  • Work with business and function heads to identify and reportable key risks and vulnerabilities, document lessons learned, and propagate these across other Consumer businesses and functions as relevant. This also links in with the MCA Activity, Risk and Control (ARC) process.
  • Lead or support as appropriate the root cause analysis of material risk events and control breaks, and establish an effective feedback loop to the Cards business management team. Support the business in drafting appropriate corrective and preventive actions plans.
  • Work with business and relevant stakeholders to ensure strict adherence to regulatory, policy and procedure requirements.
  • Track issue and CAP status, escalate to the Business Function Head and Wealth Controls Head for issues and CAPs that are at risk of missing their target dates at least 30 days ahead of the targeted closure date. Support the business on 'at-risk' issues and CAPs.
  • Participation in pre-audit preparation (e.g. deep dive reviews etc.) and coordinate 'Requests For Information'. Partner closely with 2LOD and 3LOD for any ongoing business monitoring, internal audits and regulatory reviews
  • Support the business in reviewing, maintaining, and enhancing Permanent Control Readiness.
