Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

  • Assist in developing the strategies and implementation of Venue Programming (VP) and activation initiatives for Civic District (CVD) placemaking that contribute to the development of the arts sector in Singapore, and establish AHL venues as distinctive creative, multicultural spaces for diverse audiences.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders and relevant partners in the Civic District as well as external programme partners to implement VP and CVD placemaking initiatives and programmes at AHL venues.
  • Build and develop target audiences through AHL initiatives, platforms and programmes to enliven the CVD district and AHL venues. E.g. AHL signature events
  • Build strong and long-term partnerships with artists, AHL tenants, arts organisations, educators, and community organisations to develop programmes and initiatives to achieve AHL objectives.

Duties include:

  1. Work as an integral member of AHL Venue Programming team
  2. Assist Assistant Director / Senior Manager on the following:
  • Developing and executing programmes and projects across AHL venues, including the Cultural Medallion showcase, in line with the programming strategy and venue-focus, such as traditional arts programmes at Stamford Arts Centre, literary-arts focus programmes at The Arts House and other signature events and festivals for AHL Arts Centres.
  • Stakeholder engagement and reaching out to targeted audiences, including communities, schools, beneficiaries, and interest groups, through programming initiatives and platforms.
  • Placemaking and marketing of AHL venue programmes and initiatives by working across AHL departments, including partner and stakeholder relationship building.
  • Administrative and logistical duties such as ensuring compliance and execution of related finance and procurement, agreements and contracts, tech-production, marketing and publicity, ticketing, front-of-house, customer service, and obtaining necessary approvals from internal and external parties, etc.
  • Project management, design and planning:
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, scope, schedules, budgets and expenditures, and outcomes. Attend project meetings and follow-up with outstanding tasks. Analyse and resolve project issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage project correspondences and prepare and review project related emails, letters, proposals, contracts, meeting minutes and other documents.
  • Project documentation: prepare and submit project reports in a timely manner.
  • To carry out and assume any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by the Management, including leading projects when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Arts and/or Social Sciences. A subject concentration in Literature/Performing Arts/Visual Arts is a bonus.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in project management or production management. Experience in an arts organisation would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and proficiency in a Mother-Tongue language (Malay/Mandarin/Tamil) would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in using and applying MS Office at work.
  • Possesses good communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Dynamic and strong team player with good organisational skills, able to work independently and effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work on weekends, public holidays and evenings when required.
  • Passion and knowledge of arts and culture in Singapore would be an advantage.
