TheAcademic Computing and Information Services (ACIS) division of NIEoversees and supports the information communication technologies(ICT) needs of NIE. The ICT Support Engineer reports tothe Unit Head, IT Service Delivery of the Service ManagementDepartment. His/her primary responsibility is to provide ICTsupport to NIE stakeholders, identify root causes, offerappropriate solutions, and escalate to suppliers if necessary.He/she will mainly focus on establishing the essential technicalknow-how, ensuring prompt resolution to equipment and servicefailure, and working closely with the service desk, engineers, endusers and project managers to ensure proper operation and goodend-user experience.

JobResponsibilities:
  • Handle customers' requests that include IT/AV-relatedissues/complaints and attend to their requests in a timely,pleasant, and professional manner.
  • Providetechnical support for IT/AV-related incidents via various customertouchpoints by performing technical analysis and carrying out bothpreventive and corrective maintenance.
  • ProvideIT/AV support for events, lessons, meetings, and video conferences,which may require working beyond office hours ifnecessary.
  • Provide corrective and preventivemaintenance for IT/AV Systems in NIE Learning Spaces (i.e.collaborative classrooms, tutorial rooms, lecture theatres,teaching rooms/labs and meeting rooms).
  • Trackand report assigned tasks completion and meeting SLAtargets.
  • Document IT/AV-related problems andresolution procedures in the Knowledge Base for futurereference.
  • Create and maintain technicaldocumentation related to the configuration of IT/AV equipment andcomponents.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurityteam to perform regular assessment and mitigation on the endpoint'ssecurity and integrity level, ensuring compliance with NIE ITsecurity guidelines and national regulations.
  • Participate in IT Business Continuity and DisasterRecovery programmes.
  • Assist in the evaluationand procurement of IT/AV equipment and solutions. Ensure seamlessend-to-end delivery of services and solutions to customers andstakeholders.
  • Maintain centralisedrecords/database of IT/AV assets.
  • Carry outonsite physical asset verification, update of assets and report thefindings for audit reconciliation.
  • UndertakeIT/AV-related initiatives/projects that drive greater efficiencyand effectiveness of the division.
  • Contributeto the continual service improvement of IT/AV services andprocesses by participating in ideation activities or projectgroups.
Requirements:
  • Minimally a Diploma in Information & CommunicationTechnology or equivalent.
  • Preferably with 3years of experience in ICT support with good customer serviceskills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication,both written and oral, skills.
  • Proactive,self-motivated, resilient, and work well under pressure.
  • A good team player with creativity andresourcefulness.
  • Keen on discovering andassessing new technology for productivity purposes.
  • Result-oriented with a strong sense of accountability foraccomplishing assignments within timelines.
  • Works collaboratively with peers and technical team atvarious levels in the organisation.
  • Goodknowledge and skills in computer troubleshooting, network,applications, and operating systems support such as MicrosoftWindows, Microsoft Office, Macintosh Operating system and/or mobiledevice configuration.
  • Good working knowledgeof audio/video equipment.
  • Proficient inproblem diagnostics and resolution, with the ability to workautonomously.
  • Certification in IT InformationLibrary (ITIL) Foundation and good experience with ITIL bestpractices is anadvantage.
