- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and guide the sales team by setting goals, providing coaching, and ensuring that the team works effectively to meet sales targets. Promote professional development through ongoing training, mentorship, and skill enhancement.
- Strategy Development: Formulate and execute strategic sales plans aligned with overall business objectives. Work closely with upper management to define objectives, identify target markets, and plan approaches to stimulate revenue growth.
- Performance Monitoring: Track individual and team performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics. Regularly analyze results, taking corrective action as necessary to ensure targets are achieved.
- Training and Development: Lead training programs for new sales representatives and offer continuous development opportunities for the team, enhancing their knowledge in sales techniques, product offerings, and customer relationship management.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, participating in high-level negotiations and addressing customer concerns to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage sales forecasts and budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and optimizing costs while meeting financial constraints.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze comprehensive sales reports, market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Present insights and sales performance updates to senior management, adjusting strategies where necessary to capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Collaboration Across Departments: Work with marketing, finance, and product development teams to align sales efforts with business objectives, coordinating promotions, pricing strategies, and product launches.
- Market Research and Innovation: Stay informed about market trends, competitor strategies, and industry changes. Adapt sales approaches to leverage emerging opportunities and maintain competitiveness in the market.
- Communication: Ensure clear and effective communication of goals, expectations, and performance updates to both the sales team and upper management, fostering an environment of transparency and collaboration.
Mandatory Capabilities/Skills /Years of Experience
- 12-15+ years of experience in a senior-level consulting client-facing role or account manager leadership role
- Should have led a Sales organization of 5-10 associates and should be able to track business performance, manage escalations and lead teams
- Preferred Batchelor's degree i BA, MBA, Communications, or other sales training certifications
- Revenue Targets: Achievement of sales revenue targets set for the team.
- Sales Growth: Percentage increase in sales compared to previous periods.
- Customer Acquisition: Number of new customers acquired within a specific period.
- Team Quota Attainment: Percentage of the sales team meeting or exceeding their individual quotas.
- Training and Development: Success of training programs and professional development initiatives.
- Technology Adoption: Implementation and adoption of latest sales technologies for efficiency.
