Job Objective

To drive the growth and expansion of the company's market presence by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance stakeholder relationships, increase revenue, and achieve long-term business goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of business development aims and maintain a competitive edge in the maritime industry.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development Coordination & Support

· Monitor and coordinate business development activities for ship management services in line with company procedures.

· Work closely with regional offices and country representatives globally to help them maximize business development potential.

Lead Generation & Market Research

· Drive lead generation in a targeted manner to identify business development opportunities and assign them to suitable business units and sales resources.

· Support the continuous improvement of centralized market and competitive intelligence capabilities.

· Monitor industry news, market trends, and competitor activity, proposing appropriate actions to address external developments.

· Facilitate cross-selling efforts by identifying business development potential and driving internal coordination.

Sales Material, Proposals, and Tenders

· Review business proposals prepared by SMCs (Ship Management Centers) and propose necessary improvements.

· Facilitate the completion of sales tender submissions and specialized sales pitches.

· Assist in the development and ongoing enhancement of compelling, accurate, and high-quality business proposals, presentations, and other relevant materials.

Strategic Growth Initiatives

· Support the development and implementation of strategies to expand BSM's business in key regions and market segments.

· Formulate strategies to raise BSM's profile across key stakeholders such as charterers.

· Identify key areas for growth and explore partnerships and collaborations to expand the company's reach.

· Engage in strategic networking and attend industry events.

Customer Relationship Management

· Support the further development and adoption of the CRM system for efficient and effective management of client relations.

· Ensure marketing and sales efforts are appropriately coordinated and harmonized.

· Facilitate the further development of client relationship management capabilities and service levels through the implementation of tools and methodologies.

QualificationsEducation & Qualifications

· Relevant degree or qualification in similar role.

Work Experience

· At least 4 years of relevant work experience in the shipping industry with direct exposure to ship owner, ship brokers, or ship manager activities.

Job Specific Skills

· Strong understanding of the shipping industry.

· Knowledge of global and regional maritime market conditions.

· Familiarity with target markets, customer base, and service offerings of ship managers.

· Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and external stakeholders.

· Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills; keen to learn and develop.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Good administrative, time, and project management skills with the ability to deliver to time and quality.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and CRM products.

· Flexible, self-motivated, and self-directed while equally able to work effectively as a team member.
