NIE Libraryand Information Services Centre is seeking a dynamic and innovativelibrarian to drive engagement and outreach. The successfulcandidate will be responsible for implementing a comprehensivecommunication strategy, driving engagement efforts, and fosteringstrong relationships with various internal and externalpartners.

KeyResponsibilities
  • Develop andimplement an effective communication plan to promote the library'sservices, resources and initiatives.
  • Createappropriate messaging and implement effective communicationstrategies to outreach to different audience segments includingundergraduates, part-time graduate students, lecturers and facultymembers.
  • Develop and lead engagementinitiatives such as collaborations with academic departments andcommunication sessions. Conduct library instructional programmessuch as briefings and workshops as part of useroutreach.
  • Use appropriate communicationchannels including library website, email, newsletter and socialmedia to engage different audiences.
  • Design anddevelop informative and engaging promotional content in variousmediums including print, digital, andmultimedia.
  • Plan, organise, and manage librarypromotional events and activities.
  • Work closelywith faculty, student groups, departments and external parties toidentify opportunities for collaboration and to integrate libraryservices into the broader academic ecosystem of theinstitution.
  • Monitor and analyse engagementmetrics to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies andadjust tactics to optimise outreachefforts.


Generaland liaison duties
  • Fostercommunication between the library and designated academicdepartments.
  • Participate in collectiondevelopment, including identifying, evaluating and recommendinglibrary resources.
  • Provide in-person andvirtual information desk services asrostered.
  • Contribute to library projects, peertraining and staffdevelopment.


Requirements
  • AUniversity degree and a recognised postgraduate qualification inLibrary and/or Information Science.
  • Experiencein developing and implementing communicationstrategies.
  • Strong written and verbalcommunication skills.
  • Experience in designingmarketing and promotionalmaterials.
  • Proficiency with social mediaplatforms, graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite) andvideo editing.
  • Ability to work collaborativelywith diverse groups of people.
  • Excellentorganisational and project managementskills.
