Manager (Sports Pathway Development)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager (Sports Pathway Development) to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in managing all our player pathway development programs - including our Junior Performance Programs - as well as coaching pathway development programs, contributing to the overall development of badminton in Singapore. This position requires a strategic, innovative, and results-driven individual with a passion for excellence in sports performance and pathway development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Player Pathway Development:
- Work with the Technical Director / Head of Pathway & High-Performance Programs to develop and implement long-term strategic plan for the development of the Badminton ecosystem through Regional Training Centres, Academy and grading system.
- Lead the effort around long-term squad building with a strong focus on youth development
- To work with external stakeholders such as coaches, ActiveSG, Peoples Association, MOE etc to manage the Badminton Academy programme and Badminton Promotion Centre
- To promote the sport by organizing badminton programme in the community or schools
- Liaise with key stakeholders and personnel on matters pertaining to tournaments such as sponsorship arrangements, entries and ranking
- To maintain and frequently review the National Ranking System and policy.
- Lead the effort around development and implementation of the National Grading System
- Planning and conceptualizing sports/ social activities within budgeted funds
- Assist with execution of all legal documents between stakeholders
- Act as negotiating party to ensure positive outcomes between all stakeholders
- Coaching Pathway Development:
- Plan and manage all the coaching capacity development programs, including the calendar of Coach certification courses
- Assist with the management of court officials and review the course materials/policies for referees and umpires courses
- Budget & Spend Management:
- Prepare and manage budgets related to the implementation of all pathway programs, including Junior Performance Program (JPP).
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in sports, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Familiar with the sports industry.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel as needed during events, including weekends and holidays.
