DESIGNATION :
Manager, Training and Support (Group Crewing Services)

RESPONSIBILITIES


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating, developing, and supporting training and crew wellbeing activities across BW Group companies on requirements of each individual business unit ("BU").

You will report to the General Manager, Group Crewing Services and will oversee training activities handled by regional training departments in accordance with Service Level Agreements with respective BUs.

Expect the autonomy given to drive innovation within the training space using new techniques, methods or technology that can help improve the effectiveness of training.

You will also actively participate in the development and implementation of Human Factor initiatives to further strengthen the Company's safety culture and continuously improve safety performance.

Developing and improving effective processes and programs to address Seafarers' physical, social, and mental wellbeing, and hereunder manage existing wellbeing programs will also be key for this role.


Your responsibilities will include:

_ Training:
_

Oversee and coordinate training activities handled by regional training departments in accordance with Service Level Agreements with BU; hereunder:

  • Preparation of training plans and compliance with all requirements
  • Cost control
  • Preparation of annual training budgets
  • Preparation of Management reports
  • Prepare and analyze budget variance report.
  • Finding new training centers for new courses as required
  • Manage existing and new Training programs, i

e:

  • Computer Based Training
  • Competence Management System
  • Global Cadet program
  • Newbuilding Training programs
  • Drive innovation within the training space using new techniques, methods or technology that can help improve the effectiveness of training.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Human Factor initiatives, leadership programs to further strengthen the Company's safety culture and continuously improve safety performance.
  • Responsible for systems, tools and programs related to BW's Behavioral Competence Framework, i.e. recruitment tools, appraisal system and training programs.

_ Support:
_


  • Responsible for all BW Wellness program focusing on crew wellbeing and continuous development of effective processes and programs to improve Seafarers' physical, social, and mental wellbeing.
  • Responsible for handling the various service providers of crew wellness, mental health helpline, telemedical, medical insurance of seafarers etc.
  • Support other crewing support tasks from time to time as directed by General Manager, Group Crewing Services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or a bachelor's degree/Diploma in Nautical Science or any other degree with 5 years of experience in training
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working within Crewing or Training
  • Seagoing experience or a strong track record within seafarers training is an advantage
  • Knowledge of STCW, TMSA and SIRE
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A strong team player with positive attitude and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to handle multiple stakeholders
  • Able to work under pressure in a high pace environment
  • High motivation and drive, flexible attitude
  • Structured and well organized
  • Analytical and research skills
