As a Proposal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our organization's growth by preparing, developing, and delivering comprehensive proposals for potential clients.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather technical information, analyze client needs, and create persuasive proposals that align with our business goals.

Your ability to articulate technical solutions and convey value propositions will be essential in winning new projects and contracts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Cost Estimation:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects;
  • Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and associated costs;

Quantity Take-off

  • Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and labour required for MEP installations;
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive quantity assessments

;Budgeting and Cost-control

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Monitor and report on cost variations, providing recommendations for costsaving measures;

Tendering and Procurement

  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and participate in the procurement process;
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitiveness and adherence to project requirements;

Contract Administration

  • Administer and manage contracts related to MEP works, including variations and claims;
  • Monitor contractual compliance and resolve any disputes that may arise during the project;

Value Engineering

  • Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality;
  • Work closely with design and construction teams to implement value engineering recommendations;

Risk Management

  • Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract issues;
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success;

Cost Reporting

  • Generate regular cost reports to keep stakeholders informed of project financial status;
  • Provide analysis and recommendations based on cost reporting data;

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders;
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the overall success of the project;

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in MEP construction;
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices;

Ad-hoc

  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
  • Other adhoc duties as assigned by the HOD.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Minimum 5 years of related working experience in industrial, commercial or datacenter projects.
  • Good working knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical.
  • Organizational skill with attention to detail, adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to work well in a team, work independently and demonstrate initiative and commitment
