Global Communications at HSBC is responsible for crafting and executing communication strategies that align with our core values, further our business objectives, and bolster our reputation with key stakeholders.

We are currently on the lookout for an exceptional professional to join our team as a Senior Communications Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

Accountabilities for Business, Customers, and Stakeholders

  • Contribute proactively to the regional communications strategy for CMB to support business growth, enhance brand visibility, and boost employee engagement.
  • Collect valuable insights, messages, and proof points from the network to help teams effectively reach target audiences on critical topics and themes.
  • Coordinate and align activities across the organization to drive and prioritize strategic campaigns.
  • Advocate for the use of data and insights by business units to drive informed decision-making, maximize impact, and ensure cost-effective content creation.
  • Adopt a holistic approach towards addressing CMB's diverse audiences and utilize various channels and formats for storytelling.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business challenges by analyzing market trends, customer feedback, new product developments, competition activities, and campaigns.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Assist in formulating and executing the CMB communications strategy for the region.
  • Collaborate with the Global CMB communications team and the broader ASP communications team to foster synergy, share best practices, develop impactful campaigns, and content.
  • Provide communications guidance and support to senior business leaders and partners in coordination with the rest of the CMB ASP Communications team.

Functional Knowledge

  • Ensure compliance with all Communications governance and policies.
  • Adhere to Group policies and procedures while maintaining necessary records.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, strategic planning, and project management capabilities.
  • Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills to generate compelling content in various forms.
  • Have a profound understanding of business and economic matters relevant to the commercial banking industry.
  • Be a decisive decision-maker capable of adapting swiftly in dynamic environments.

  • Possess a broad and thorough comprehension of concepts and principles within a specific discipline.
  • Understand the value unit/product/region/legal entity while staying abreast of industry trends, challenges, and transformations.
  • Engage in diverse activities that require evaluations based on analyzing complex information in potentially novel situations.
  • Seek continuous improvement in daily departmental operations and pursue authorization to implement enhancements.
  • Exercise discretion in decision-making outside established protocols but within a policy framework set by others.
  • Translate business strategies into action through team management and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Exhibit strong communication and diplomatic skills to guide, persuade, and influence others effectively.
  • Cultivate productive collaborative relationships with external entities as an integral aspect of the role.
