Global Communications at HSBC formulates and executes communication strategies that align with the bank's objectives and values, while also bolstering its reputation among key stakeholders.

We are currently looking for a skilled professional to join us as a Senior Communications Manager for SG and SEA.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Enhancing and safeguarding the HSBC Singapore brand and reputation in alignment with the bank's core purpose and values
  • Leading the implementation of an external corporate communications strategy to reinforce HSBC Singapore as a prominent international bank focusing on digital innovation and sustainability, and as an employer of choice
  • Executing an integrated internal communications plan to connect all bank employees in Singapore with the institution's goals and strategies, as well as enhancing HSBC Singapore's visibility to key internal stakeholders across HSBC Group
  • Overseeing communications for the Wealth and Personal Banking division, covering Retail Banking, HSBC Life, HSBC Asset Management, and Private Banking
  • Managing Leadership Communications: coordinating internal and external engagements for senior stakeholders, including content creation such as speeches, opinion pieces, internal communications, and social media activities to enhance the bank's presence in Singapore media and social platforms, all aligned with the Wealth & Personal Banking narrative for Singapore
  • Developing and executing an engaging two-way communications program for employees, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategy and priorities, managing change, fostering cultural integration, and sharing success stories with employees in the Wealth and Personal Banking business while promoting achievements globally
  • Driving external communications efforts including media relations, crafting and sustaining narratives, building media relationships, and creating media content that effectively showcases the bank's Wealth and Personal Banking operations
  • Managing crisis communications to protect the bank's reputation during challenging times, by developing and implementing crisis management plans and supporting customers

Requirements

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives in times of change
  • Prior experience in team leadership is advantageous
  • Background in the financial services sector, particularly Wealth and Personal Banking, is beneficial
  • Exceptional content development and media skills, with the ability to produce engaging stories for various platforms and promote thought leadership
  • Proficiency in multimedia, including video editing, social media content creation, and tools like Canva, is a plus
  • Extensive experience in corporate communications, media relations, or content roles, either in an agency or in-house
  • Capability to comprehend business concerns and develop effective communication strategies, introducing new approaches when necessary
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, work in a complex environment, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, strategic planning, and project management abilities
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential
  • A team player who can collaborate effectively, drive high performance, and work efficiently with teams, individuals, and external partners
  • Capable of managing time and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute
  • Strategic thinking, execution capabilities, an international outlook, and a growth mindset are vital
