Singapore UIB ASIA REINSURANCE BROKERS PTE. LTD. Full time

Overall Role:

  • Review and record the various types of claim submissions from Clients.
  • Responsible for checking and booking of Treaty Statement of accounts, mindep premium and profit commission statements in accordance with the Best Practice Manual.

Key Accountabilities/Core Competence Indicators:

Claims & Technical Accounts Processing:

  • Determine if the claims information provided are sufficient.
  • Confirm if the claim falls within coverage based on the placement slip / policy.
  • Address / resolve queries from clients and reinsurers.
  • Follow up with reinsurers for claims approval.
  • Review the submission of technical statements and / or settlement advices such as treaty quarterly statement of accounts and facultative premium closings.

System & Procedure:

  • Process the advices & statements and ensure accuracy / completeness in the numbers provided and that they are in accordance with the terms and conditions of the program / slip / policy.
  • Ensure timely monthly and financial yearend technical closing.
  • Running of monthly internal business reports when required.
  • Proper filing etiquette.

Others:

  • Take charge of any additional tasks assigned by Line Managers.

Compliance/Corporate Governance:

  • Legal, market, regulatory and Best Practice Manual requirements are met in all aspects of business.
  • High technical standards are maintained to achieve quality, mínimal rework and mínimal E & O exposure.
  • Maintain confidentiality in systems and procedures.
  • All approval process is handled in accordance with UIB's Authorised Personnel.
  • Review files to ensure that correspondence, documents, statistics etc. are retained on file in accordance with Best Practice Manual/divisional procedures providing a complete audit trail
  • Supports the introduction of new processes in response to regulation changes.

General

  • At all times behave in a way that upholds and promotes the good name and reputation of UIB Group
  • Deal honestly and fairly with colleagues, clients, and others within the insurance profession
  • Take responsibility for own learning and development. Keep uptodate with best practice and legal developments relating to your own field of expertise. To meet all external and internal training requirements.

Desirable Experience:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years in handling Treaty Claims & Technical Accounts processing (reinsurance).

Knowledge and Skills

  • Certificate in general insurance and/or reinsurance
  • Good command of English language verbal and written communication
  • High IT literacy (especially Ms Office, Ms Word, Ms Excel)
  • Accuracy and thoroughness
  • Attention to detail
  • Time Management/prioritisation
  • Company structure and reporting lines
  • Best Practice Manual
  • Money Laundering/Prevention of financial crime procedures
