Overview:

Supply and Trading (S&T) is the commercial link to the market for Upstream and Downstream & Chemicals (DS&C). S&T applies its knowledge of commodity markets, the well head-to-customer value chain and transportation logistics in the crude, gas, and refined products markets to maximize the value of enterprise assets and enable the commercial success of Upstream and DS&C. S&T buys, sells, and supplies crude oil, refined products, natural gas, and gas liquids to support Chevron's crude and gas production operations and its refining and marketing network. S&T integrates enterprise-wide supply and trading capabilities to capture commercial opportunities across the entire value chain through commercial functional excellence.

Gas Supply and Trading (GSAT) is responsible for marketing Upstream's gas, LNG, and LPG production as well as trading 3rd party volumes. With offices in Perth, Singapore, London, Houston, and Calgary our global teams procure, transport, and market pipeline and seabourne gas products to maximize the value of Chevron's Upstream production. We work in close collaboration with Chevron Shipping, Pipeline and Power and third parties to transport gas for internal and external customers around the world.

GSAT is tightly integrated with the internal Value Chain Optimization (VCO) organization and Upstream to capture opportunities across the entire well head-to-customer value chain. The team collects and leverages market intelligence to deliver incremental value and enhanced profitability through strategic arbitrage, storage, and third-party trading, balancing the Chevron system and proactively managing changing gas & gas liquids flows to ensure flow assurance. The global LNG team is also responsible for adding value to the business through optimization of Chevron's global LNG portfolio and third party volumes. Chevron's LNG portfolio is expected to grow significantly by 2030.

The Commercial Business Manager provides a key role for the BU in all Chevron related matters from business planning to corporate governance and compliance, risk control, enterprise valuation and financial reporting. The role requires a complete understanding of the Chevron organization as well as some knowledge or background in tax, finance, and legal matters as well as supervises the Gas Supply & Trading (GSAT) Commercial, Business and Trading Analysts. It is also critical that the selected candidate has either or both commercial and financial knowledge related to the Supply and Trading business.

A key role of this position will be to represent the BU on cross opco and system initiatives and must have a clear understanding of BU position on a variety of matters.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Manages and supervises a team of analysts (Commercial, Business and Trading) that provides commercial support to GSAT Trading, Scheduling and Operations teams while contributing continuous measurable improvements to financial results or business unit performance. Leads the standardization across the regions of analytical processes such as business planning, deal sheets, trade entry, exposure tracking and financial and management reporting. Ensures compliance matters are being administered per CVX protocol; responsible for providing accurate and timely Mark-to-Market, core earnings normalization, EVC, One P/L, earnings forecast, actual to plan/forecast reconciliation and explanations. Key support and lead contact in region for CVX initiatives, projects, and processes that require GSAT involvement. Key contact for Asia Pac in global network of Commercial Business Managers and COE. Initiate and participate in multi-functional downstream studies as trading representative. These activities require high level of commercial and business acumen. Position is also responsible in the Regional Inventory Management process through close coordination with key stakeholders. Develops and sustains a high performing commercial analyst team with advance commercial skillset helping shape regional fundamental report and generate mkt POV that supports trading. Integrates Operational Excellence into culture and champion Digital initiatives and drives idea generation across the team. Lead in the evaluation and adoption of digital solutions to simplify and increase efficiency and effectiveness of current electronic scheduling and trading tools. Coordinates all management reporting activities for GSAT in region and global LNG, development and tracking of scorecard, KPI, and Realized Price in Competitive Performance. This position will also oversee and manage development of the global LNG Business and Strategic Plans and support the development of the regional LPG Business and Strategic Plans. Leads and participates in work teams and DRBs on cross BU initiatives and gas/LNG value chain studies that enable growth in Midstream, Upstream or CNE. Initiate and participate in multi-functional studies as trading representative focusing on activities around Chevron internal matters that require high level of commercial and business acumen that address legal, tax, financial reporting, SOX, Risk Control, intra-company agreement, system requirements, etc. Support GSAT GM to develop and implement Midstream strategies and tactics, OE and compliance commitments, People strategy and Digital initiatives. Develop and participate in career development and succession planning.
