Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive and skilled HR Executive (L&D) for a global shipping company. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will involve assisting in various HR tasks such as recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, compensation and benefits, HR policy administration, and employee engagement.

The main focus of the job will be to support the learning and development initiatives of the company, including training needs analysis, training coordination, and conducting induction sessions for new employees. The candidate will collaborate with department heads to provide HR guidance on manpower planning, training, performance management, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment and selection of non-management staff and handle work pass applications
  • Manage monthly payroll for office-based and field/project staff
  • Administer insurance enrolment for new joiners and leavers
  • Address HR-related queries from employees and management, providing timely resolutions on various areas such as employee leave, welfare programs, expatriate benefits, and long service awards

Advising on employment terms, conducting training needs analysis, and maintaining the Training Management System are also part of the responsibilities.

  • Administer training matrix and ensure new joiners complete necessary trainings
  • Handle all training logistics and related activities like applications for government grants
  • Manage internship programs and conduct staff orientation
  • Maintain up-to-date HR records and provide statistical reporting
  • Assist with government surveys and employee recreation programs
  • Undertake special projects as directed by the HR Manager

Experience required

  • Diploma in Human Resource Management or related field
  • 1-3 years' experience in HR operational activities
  • Familiarity with Singapore Employment Act
  • Prior experience in training administration and shipping industry is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful and able to work in a fast-paced environment
