Academic Director

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist to ensure the smooth operations of the school with strategic planning and management of the school's resources
- Spearhead the planning and implementation of the school's progression into an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in alignment to the top leadership directives. Drive the development and accomplishment of standards and practices supporting the IB programmes
- To involved in the educational process and curriculum development to adhere to ministries standards & guidelines
- Supervise the setting of school's yearly timetable & school calendar for approval
- Inspire and mentor teachers on instructional methods, evaluate teachers' performance and assess student learning
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and students to improve the learning & social environment of the school
- Responsible for handling student discipline, classroom observations, teacher evaluation and supervision including facilitating parentteacher meetings
- Direct assemblies and other special gatherings of students for events throughout the year
- To lead academic departmental meetings to discuss issues and provide directions
- Oversee academic department budgeting
- Plan and review emergency response plans to meet curriculum requirements
- Vet and approve for all academic related documents (including proofreading marketing content materials related to academic)
- Assume role of the Management Representative (MR) who is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the requirements of the EduTrust certification scheme & main liaison to CPE for all communications and submission matters
- Assume role of the Secretary of the Internal Assessment ("IA"), Management Review Committee ("MR") and Edutrust Committee, to be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient execution of the EduTrust Committee Meeting & Management Review Committee Meeting and the preparation and archive of all the EduTrust related documentation.
- Participate in the school's EduTrust Certification Process in terms of compliance with standards & statutory requirements etc serves as Chairman in the AAIS Academic and Examinations Board Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor
Job Requirements:
- Preferably Master Degree with specialization in education, school administration and management or related fields
- Ideally 8 years of management and teaching experience preferably with professional teaching qualifiations and in international school setting
- Preferably IB trained with IB school teaching or management experience
- Visionary leader with excellent motivational, interpersonal & communication skills
- Selfdriven and resilient personality
- Knowledge of financial and budget management
- Strong ability in planning, organizing and problem solving
