Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for Technical Sales Managers - Refrigeration


Our new Technical Sales Managers - Refrigeration will be tasked with developing sales by leveraging technical competences, actively seeking new sales opportunities and supporting the regional sales teams to sell Refrigeration products effectively.

Being the point of reference and authority for the Refrigeration product portfolio in the defined geographic area in terms of technical knowledge and understanding how the use of the product creates value for our customers.

You shall focus on key selling points, drive the technical sales process and deal with advanced technical questions and deal closing.


You will actively support regional Key Account Managers to develop agreed budgets for targeted customers and proactively drive the quality of the sales pipeline to increase product penetration and growth.

You will work closely with the respective product management team and customers to assist direction for the development of new products, services, and solutions.

You shall adhere to WSS Sales Governance, sales processes, and procedures at all times.

The Technical Sales Managers - Refrigeration will be reporting to the Head of Technical Sales - Refrigerants.

Closely cooperating with the Sales & CS organization as well as Product Management, Inventory, Procurement, Pricing and the Marketing team.


What you will work on:

  • Drive profitable sales growth of our Refrigeration portfolio for current and new customers in collaboration with the regional Sales & CS teams
  • Work closely with the respective regional sales teams to define Sales Activity Plans for the Refrigeration portfolio, ensuring tangible activity is owned, implemented and recorded relating to the planned opportunities captured
  • Leverage your technical competence to drive meaningful sales activities, sell and close customer deals in alignment with Key Account Managers (KAMs hold account responsibility)
  • Jointly coown the defined geographic area's sales target for the Refrigerants product portfolio
  • Hold the highest level of technical and practical understanding of the Refrigerants portfolio, and exhibit a 'can do' forward leaning approach to internal collaboration, external interaction, and sales growth
  • Support Sales & CS and ensure that the sales pipeline is being implemented to hit the targets as specified, based on quality opportunities on existing accounts (share of wallet) and new business
  • Support KAMs in budgeting process and proactively work to increase sales conversion rate and the quality of the sales pipeline incl. customer facing sales activity in collaboration with KAMs
  • Closely collaborate with the Product/Planning and Marketing team in developing sales material, in addition to tailoring challenger methodology presentations for customers
  • Secure strong focus and followup on Newbuild and Drydock opportunities in the pipeline
  • Drive sales activities for product campaigns and promotions. This includes assistance in setting sales targets as well as qualification and provision of sales forecasts for optimal stock availability
  • Present and promote WSS products and services at conferences/customer events and exhibitions to position WSS as a market leader technically and commercially
  • Proactively seek out the latest technical and market intelligence of the Refrigerants products/services, and provide feedback of same to the Product, Marketing and Inventory colleagues
  • Ensure that accurate and updated information is inputted in WSS CRM system including visit reports, opportunities, deals etc.
  • Ensure full compliance with WSS Sales Governance, policies and processes

What you need to succeed in the role:

  • Formal education in engineering/technical studies/the specific products/services
  • 4-5 years of tech. experience from maritime industry, preferably worked on-board a vessel.
  • Minimum 2 years direct sales experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively within a multinational environment
  • Fluency in English
  • both writing and speaking
  • Ability to work independently and systematically
  • Able to meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities
  • Ambitious ,self-driven, outgoing and full of initiative
  • Proven team player and receptive to new ideas
