Singapore CAPITAL COLLEGE OF THE ARTS, MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD. Full time

Role Overview:

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Lead the pastoral vision that aligns with the school Vision and Mission.
  • Lead, manage, and have strategic oversight of the implementation of the
school's systems.

  • Lead in the development and implementation of schemes of work (Character
and Virtues Education), policies, and strategies across the High School

section.

  • Lead in the development of processes to enhance the way in which the
pastoral system works and is delivered.

  • Plan and manage finances necessary for the department/pastoral system to
function.

  • Lead and implement the Cocurricular programme and House system,
inclusive of whole school house events.

  • Lead and oversee the student leadership system.

Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning:
lessons on Character and Virtues Education.

  • Provide a role model for staff in pedagogy and motivate staff to develop
effective practices in teaching and learning.

  • Provide regular constructive feedback to students on how they can improve
and maximize their potential.

Discipline and Conduct:

  • Have general oversight of school discipline, ensuring that good behavior is
promoted and rewarded, and deal with any issues promptly and fairly, in

accordance with school policies.

  • Manage any serious disciplinary cases involving students.
  • Manage and update codes of conduct and discipline and related policies.
  • Manage school rewards and sanctions to ensure that they are being used
fairly.

  • Monitor and maintain records of students& social development.

After School Care Services:

  • Lead and manage the daily after school care services, maintaining and
enhancing the quality of provision to ensure a nurturing and supportive

learning environment dedicated to the well-being and education of students.

  • Maintain communications with parents and guardians.
  • Manage supervision rotas, beginning/end of term programmes, new student
induction, and other administrative requirements.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in department meetings, schoolwide training events, and attend
relevant training workshops as identified by the school.

  • Work with staff in the department, other Program Heads, and school leaders
to review curriculum, systems, and processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Background:

  • A bachelor& degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field from
a recognized university.

  • A postgraduate degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field is
highly desirable.

  • Recognized teaching qualification, such as PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in
Education) or PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of fulltime teaching experience in a high school setting,
demonstrating a strong track record of effective classroom instruction and student

engagement.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership position within
an educational setting, such as a head of department, grade level coordinator, or

student support coordinator.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing pastoral care programs,
character education initiatives, or student development activities.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing student discipline, resolving conflicts, and
promoting a positive school culture.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of adolescent development, socialemotional learning, and
best practices in pastoral care and student support.

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies for character
education and virtues education.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively
collaborate with colleagues, engage with students and parents, and build positive

relationships within the school community.

  • Proficient in using technology to support student learning, communication, and
administrative tasks.

Personal Qualities:

  • Passion for working with high school students and commitment to their holistic
development and well-being.

  • High level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and ability to connect with students
from diverse backgrounds.

  • Positive, growthoriented mindset and willingness to learn and adapt to new
challenges and opportunities.

  • Strong moral compass and ability to model and promote the school& values and
ethos.

  • Resilient, flexible, and able to work effectively in a dynamic, fastpaced
educational environment.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in organizing and leading cocurricular activities, student leadership
programs, or community service initiatives.

  • Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to the student
population served.

  • Relevant certifications or training in areas such as counseling, coaching,
mentoring, or restorative practices.

  • Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum and assessment framework is a plus.
