Job Title: Sales Engineer
Industry: Marine
As a Sales Engineer in the Marine Industry, you will be responsible for promoting and selling marine equipment, systems, and solutions to clients within the maritime sector. Your primary focus will be on understanding customer needs, providing technical expertise, and delivering tailored solutions that meet or exceed their requirements. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, sales skills, and a deep understanding of marine engineering principles.
Responsibilities:- Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients in the marine industry.
Understand client needs, preferences, and requirements to propose appropriate products and solutions. - Technical Expertise:Provide technical guidance and support to clients on marine equipment, systems, and solutions.
Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions with clients. - Sales and Business Development:Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to achieve sales targets.
Prepare and deliver persuasive sales proposals and quotations.
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients. - Market and Product Knowledge:Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential growth areas and product improvements. - Collaboration:Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, logistics, etc.) to ensure timely delivery and installation of products.
Work closely with suppliers and partners to leverage their expertise and capabilities. - Documentation and Reporting:Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and other documentation as required.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM systems.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- Experience:Proven experience (X years) in technical sales or sales engineering within the marine industry.
Strong understanding of marine equipment, systems, and solutions.
Experience in dealing with shipyards, shipowners, and marine equipment suppliers. - Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce). - Personal Attributes:Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adaptability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
