Country Manager

Lead a team to support accelerated business growth and performance in Singapore. Responsible for day-to-day interactions with our distributor partner and helping to build and implement strategic plans to enable the growth and development of our portfolio based on a brand driven long term mind-set. You will be our eyes and ears on the ground, responsible for building solid relationships with key decision makers and key customers and securing operational excellence and the highest level of in-store/outlet execution.
• Build solid relationship with our Distributor, Managers, Key Account Managers and Sales Reps within our Distributor (On/Off Trade)
• Lead, coach and develop commercial team, ensuring delivery of all people processes
• Partner with regional teams to recommend relevant commercial, marketing and any other functional initiatives in accordance to regional strategy and localized insights
• Own overall short- and long-term business strategy to deliver against business ambitions
• Drive expansion in priority markets in line with P&L delivery
• Partner key distributors and key accounts in all commercial channels to drive business growth, commercial excellence, and brand building strategy
• Recommend short and long-term business plans based on market insights and regional strategies, to best position BSI portfolio of brands and products for an optimal Route-to-Market
• Guide respective regional teams in execution of any in-market initiatives basis regional priorities
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders effectively to deliver global and regional strategic priorities
• Support the distributor to execute plans agreed with the Managing Director and Marketing team
• Monthly reporting on performance, competitor intelligence and business environment
• Build a positive and engaging Beam Suntory work environment
• Drive compliance against local regulations and company policies
• Proactively seek and recommend to Managing Director any new profitable business opportunities and support commercial projects, such as route to market reviews
Qualifications
• 10+ years of commercial experience in national alcoholic beverage/FMCG companies preferred
• 4-5 years’ experience in team management & working with cross-functional teams, achieving goals on-time with limited resources in dynamic and competitive market
• Prior experience in handling fast-growth commercial markets in SEA
• Prior experience in Luxury/Premium product environment
• Prior experience in eCommerce
• Proven track record for cultivating and growing strong relationships with key external & internal partners across various cultures
• Ability to analyse key business drivers and their financial implications on P&L, conduct business reviews internally and externally. .
• Ability to leverage data for decision making (e.g. forecasting to estimate market demand)
• Proven track record of identifying, developing and growing channels and channel partners
• Proven track record of leading tough negotiations (e.g. discussions with key stakeholders in high-risk situations)
• Proven track record of building high performance teams through coaching and focused development
• Ability to deal with ambiguous problems and build cross-functional solutions
