Position Summary & Overview:
As the Vice President/Commercial General Manager (VP/Commercial GM) at Cepheid, you will be a pivotal member of the Commercial management team, steering the entire APAC (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Bangladesh and India) region towards strategic goals. This role involves overseeing commercial growth, expanding operating margins, and enhancing organizational and DBS (Danaher Business System) capability. With direct P&L responsibility for various functions including Commercial, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, FAS and Business Operations, you'll play a crucial part in developing and executing customer strategies to drive growth and increase market share.
Additionally, the role will be responsible for leading the Danaher Diagnostics function/platform to accelerate the growth in the SE Asia Markets, partnering with our Operating Company teams from Leica Biosystems, Radiometer and Cepheid. This leader will own go-to-market strategy and execution for target SE Asia Markets for the three companies.
Managing a sales team of around 75 associates and a x-functional team of around 200 associates across multiple countries, you'll be working towards optimizing individual and team performance with a focus on continuous improvement. The current revenue in the region is approximately $350m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an APAC strategy to accelerate growth and support the customer-installed base.
- Identify opportunities for go-to-market improvements, enhance market access, and build local organizational capabilities to fuel revenue growth.
- Set expectations for the organization, fostering growth, and improving operational effectiveness while collaborating across functions.
- Lead regional collaboration between commercial, cross-functional organizations, ensuring alignment with the APAC and global market strategy.
- Foster followership across functions and regions to achieve strategic priorities. Provide leadership for matrix functions, including Legal, Finance, Quality/Regulatory, Marketing, HR, Operations and Logistics.
- Emphasize talent development and succession planning, ensuring a robust pipeline of skilled leaders to drive the company's future success.
- Deliver the APAC HBDC business revenue
- Lead the regionâs Go-to-Market (GTM) initiatives. You will serve as lead partner with the Danaher Diagnostics function/platform and be an integral part of the business, working with and influencing business leaders to make data-based decisions to accelerate growth in pursuit of overall business strategic goals. Â

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience OR Master's/Doctoral degree with 18+ years of experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of (Commercial) people leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of all business elements, including marketing, finance, sales operations, ecommerce, customer experience, supply chain, operations, logistics, and legal.
- Strong ability to influence and gain alignment from key stakeholders, comfortable presenting to C-suite.
- Excellent communicator in written and verbal forms.
- Versatile and dedicated to efficient productivity.
- Experience in planning and participating in strategic initiatives.
- Experience in leading global transformational change.
Highly Preferred:
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to translate strategy into technical requirements and technical requirements into customer-centric solutions.
- Understanding of working with inside sales, field sales, global service and support operations, and field service.
- Metrics and results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Travel:
- 50-60% travel required.
