Position Summary

You will work closely with the VP of Operations to build new manufacturing and engineering operations across Asia. You will oversee the rest of Asia operations to ensure the site’s safety, quality, delivery, cost, and LEAN transformation to meet the company objectives and in compliance with local laws and regulations. In addition, you will implement the best-in-class efficiency monitoring and tracking tools & KPIs and the appropriate Lean methodologies and performance management to achieve best-in-class efficiency across the operations portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support VP of Operations to prepare the regional operation’s budget and various plans, a 3-year strategic growth plan for the rest of Asia operations including building new manufacturing plants and operations across Asia
  • Lead cost optimisation initiatives, set Asia manufacturing roadmap and drive LEAN transformation
  • Promote and implement safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity and maintenance, ensuring all sites comply with EHS requirements, laws, and regulations
  • Ensure regional capex and all spending are scrutinized and tracked closely
  • Coach, develop, and train the site operations team on operational excellence
  • Work closely with the site leaders and functional leaders to execute key global initiatives

Key Position Requirements 

  • Strong academic background in Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Operations
  • At least 10 years of solid manufacturing operations management experience, including solid experience in running multiple sites in the mechanical component production-related industry
  • Solid knowledge and proven experience in LEAN Manufacturing, 6-sigma and cost optimisation projects
  • Experience in starting up new manufacturing plants or involving M&A in different Asia countries
  • Good working knowledge of ERP shop floor control and inventory management systems
  • Extensive travelling of 50% of the time or more is required
  • Experience in managing government agencies is preferred
