Director, Banking Change

Overview Director, Banking Change & Strategic Initiatives – Standard Chartered Singapore. The role is a key position in the Global Banking COO team, focusing on project management, strategic initiatives, and essential business management support. The successful applicant will participate in initiatives related to strategic/transformation programmes, automation of business processes, AI adoption, governance, and stakeholder collaboration across Global Banking. Responsibilities Provide support to stakeholders under Global Banking, partnering on strategic/transformation programmes and other strategic business initiatives Automate new business processes and streamline existing processes, supporting strategic developments in Global Banking and removing blockages Champion adoption of AI and enable its delivery for the Global Banking Business Lead the Communications and Training agenda for strategic change initiatives in Global Banking Build relationships with key stakeholders across Business, Technology, Sustainable Finance and COO to ensure Product Roadmap and benefits align with overall strategy and client needs Provide governance for Global Banking to ensure compliance with governance requirements, including control and risk reporting via the Operational Risk Framework, and regulatory compliance Our Ideal Candidate 8+ years hands-on experience in Corporate & Institutional Banking (or equivalent); experience supporting tech projects or initiatives for Credit business (Loans or Bonds) is an added advantage 5+ years in Transformation, ideally as a Product Owner, with strong backlog management using digital tools Strong communication skills and ability to build trust-based relationships with team members and stakeholders Knowledge of industry trends in workflow automation, project management, AI adoption, and Agile ways of working Proven ability to prepare and communicate formally (verbal and written) Ability to refine and break down backlog for teams to deliver outcomes Experience with globally distributed cross-functional teams Product Owner certification (or equivalent) is an added advantage Strong prioritization, analytical skills, and data-driven decision-making Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation of backlog priorities Knowledge of design thinking and customer journeys; familiarity with Agile working methods Role Specific Technical Competencies Product Management/Ownership Product delivery lifecycle with Agile Ways of Working Process Improvement Stakeholder management and communication Internal Controls and Risk management Business Process Design Data-driven decision making & product analytics Data gathering and reporting About Standard Chartered We’re an international bank, with a history of over 170 years.
