About our client
Our client is a fast-growing AI Robotics company embarking on its expansion into Southeast Asia. They are seeking a visionary General Manager to lead the 0 to 1 setup of their Singapore operations. This is a rare opportunity to establish a regional hub from scratch — building strategy, operations, and a high-performing team to position the business for long-term success.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Market Entry
- Develop and execute the market entry strategy for Singapore and the wider SEA region, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.
- Define the operational blueprint and establish the subsidiary’s governance structure, P&L accountability, and compliance framework.
Commercial Growth & Partnerships
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and securing strategic customers, industry partnerships, and ecosystem alliances.
- Lead business development efforts across key verticals, positioning the company as a trusted AI Robotics partner in the region.
- Negotiate high-value contracts with enterprise clients and government stakeholders.
Operational Build-Out
- Design and implement organizational structures, processes, and policies to support sustainable business growth.
- Oversee legal, regulatory, and financial compliance for Singapore operations, including entity setup and risk management.
- Establish supply chain, logistics, and service delivery capabilities tailored to local market needs.
Talent & Culture Building
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary local team spanning sales, technical, and operations functions.
- Instill a performance-driven, entrepreneurial culture that balances innovation with operational discipline.
- Develop succession pipelines and leadership depth as the business scales.
Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement
- Represent the company in Singapore with government bodies, industry associations, and key strategic partners.
- Build strong relationships with investors, regulatory authorities, and regional collaborators to accelerate growth and brand recognition.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Engineering, Technology, or related fields; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years’ progressive leadership experience, including at least 5 years as a General Manager, Country Head, or BU Leader. B2B and B2G experience.
- Proven track record in 0 to 1 business setup, market entry, and scaling operations across SEA or equivalent emerging markets.
- Strong financial acumen with direct P&L ownership and success in achieving ambitious revenue and profitability targets.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and secure complex commercial partnerships.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-cultural stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, resilience under pressure, and passion for frontier technology and robotics.
