We’re recruiting a Pop Culture Strategist who can spot “new & next” before it trends, translate brand-speak into fandom, and turn cultural heat into commercial outcomes. If you live online, breathe venues and venues-of-the-internet, and can separate a micro-trend from a movement, keep reading.

The gig (what you’ll actually do)

  • Map the culture : Build living signal systems across K-Pop/K-Drama, streetwear, music scenes, Web3, gaming, and the creator economy. Know what’s noise, what’s momentum, and what a brand can credibly own.
  • Write the POVs that travel : Sharp thought pieces, quarterly trend decks, bite-sized takes for execs, longer reads for LinkedIn, and airtight pitch narratives. Zero fluff, maximum receipts.
  • Design cultural plays : Turn insights into platforms, properties, partnerships, and creator programs that fans want to join—then outline the commercial logic behind them.
  • Prove it works : Define success upfront (leading indicators, fandom KPIs, community health), and work with analytics to show movement, not just impressions.
  • Be bilingual (brand stan) : Facilitate workshops, brief creatives, interrogate research, and charm operators—from C-suite to Discord mods.

What great looks like (first 90 days)

  • Stand up a signal tracker for priority categories and countries.
  • Publish a flagship POV that gets referenced in rooms you’re not in.
  • Define 2–3 ownable territories for a key brand and the plays to win them.
  • Land a creator/partner short-list with rationale, rights, and rollout.

You, ideally

  • 6–8 years in strategy, cultural insights, editorial, innovation, or adjacent roles where your thinking turned into real-world work.
  • Hands-on fluency with at least two of these: K-Pop/K-Drama, streetwear, music ecosystems, Web3/virtual goods, gaming/esports, or the broader creator economy.
  • Research muscle : social listening, search trends, platform analytics; you can triangulate a hunch with data and fieldwork (forums, FYPs, fan cafés, subreddits, stan Twitter).
  • Writer first, strategist always : headline instincts, clean structure, and a point of view you can defend.
  • Frameworks without theatre : audience typologies, fandom ladders, cultural territory mapping, partnership ROI models—used to clarify, not to decorate.
  • Comfortable working lean and fast across markets in APAC; bonus points for an Asian language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience shaping IP, live experiences, or content franchises .
