Head of Product Strategy (Actuarial) - Leading Multinational Insurance & Asset Management Firm (HK/SG) Job Description:

Our client, a leading multinational insurance and asset managementfirm is looking for Head of Product Strategy specifically with Actuarial transformation experience. The role can be based in Hong Kong or Singapore.

The Tech Product Owner is tasked with supervising the design of technology solutions and the delivery of tech products to achieve business objectives, ensuring a seamless transition into Business As Usual (BAU) and Technology Run & Maintain teams. In the medium term, this position will also lead the architectural design of the FFP Actuarial Workstream. The individual will work closely with the FFP Actuarial Business Owner and Delivery Lead as their primary Technology partner in the daily execution of the FFP plan. A strong grasp of both technology (e.g., Actuarial model point files, Assumption Management, Run Orchestration workflow) and business domains (e.g., Insurance Actuarial modeling and results production processes, IFRS 17) is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for solution design recommendations, ensuring they align with global tech standards and roadmaps, and providing justifications in terms of business benefits and alignment with technology roadmap outcomes.
  • Deliver timely and concise updates to the Finance GTP Head and GTPC/SRC governance committees.
  • Lead and inspire diverse teams of technical experts.
  • Comprehend and analyze business needs and convert them into tech solution design concepts.
  • Supervise the Technology Architecture Design (Application, integration, infrastructure) for all Accounting & Reporting tech products.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between business (Finance/Actuarial) and technology stakeholders in co-creating tech solution design concepts.
  • Coordinate efficiently with tech delivery leads in planning and executing tech product delivery, as well as transitioning to the Run team post-go-live.
  • Manage diverse teams effectively, consisting of both internal and external resources.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including expertise in digital transformation and a strong understanding of actuarial practices.
  • Bachelors degree (2:1 honors or higher) or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Mandatory Skills
  • Experience in designing and delivering actuarial data input and results management solutions, including expertise in modeling platforms like Prophet or similar.
  • Background in data architecture and data engineering within the Insurance/Actuarial sectors.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture design.
  • Experience in managing technology delivery projects.
  • Skills in team leadership and management.
  • Strong communication abilitieswritten, verbal, and presentation skills for senior stakeholders and large audiences.
  • Familiarity with actuarial modeling and results production processes.

  • Qualified Actuary.
  • Project Management Qualification.
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages.
