Overview
As a Data Center Segment expert, the Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing sales strategies and plans as well as generating new business opportunities to the company. The position locates, develops, defines, negotiates, and closes business relationships with potential and existing key accounts, end customers, consultants, and system integrators. The position maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions, competitive positions, and PS solutions/services to develop the pipeline of business coming into the company. The objective is to achieve profitable growth by monitoring Data Center project pipelines and converting them into actual orders.
Responsibilities- Generate new business opportunities and propose potential deals by contacting target accounts and decision makers. Screen deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements and evaluating options.
- Work with local, regional, and global teams to close new business deals with persuasive approaches and pitches to key accounts. Establish long-term relationships with stakeholders and decision makers at different management levels.
- Establish, cultivate, and maintain key relationships with end customers, influencers, and contractors, in conjunction with distribution partners and direct engagement.
- Uncover and build opportunity pipelines with Sales and end customers, advance through sales stages to deal closure. Ensure data is accurately entered and managed in PS’s CRM and sales/project management system.
- Establish budgetary forecasts and sales volume targets for the SEA DC market.
- Collaborate with Sales to assess distribution involvement to ensure closing of opportunities. Provide project guidance for price and quotation strategy to the distribution network.
- Identify and support qualification of strategic alliances to expand PS solutions, products, and services; leverage business networks to expand into additional markets.
- Provide frontline Data Center marketing and technical support to distribution partners and dealers as necessary.
- Analyze sales and market data to inform senior management for decision making.
- Promote PS at trade events and with associations. Collaborate with Marketing and Engineering to create and present technical papers and white papers for marketing collateral, trade journals, and conferences.
- Be the expert in Data Center power products and solutions, industry standards, and on-site power system design and integration.
This position requires travel up to 50%.
Qualifications / Requirements- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant sales experience in the power generation business.
- Solid proven direct and channel sales track record. Ability to present and negotiate with senior executives and decision makers both internally and externally.
- Results-driven, strong will to compete and win in a business environment.
- A good team player who enjoys interacting with people at all levels.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work independently.
- Experience in Data Center segment is critical to PS growth. Strong technical knowledge of power generation products and solutions. Knowledge of industry standards and requirements.
- Strong people and communication skills that engage and motivate others. Customer-focused and able to stimulate new thinking.
- Strong drive to succeed; motivated and energized with enthusiasm.
- Excellent team player. Able to lead or participate in cross-functional teams to achieve goals; open-minded and receptive to feedback.
