Role Overview The Head of Merchant Operations will be responsible for establishing and scaling the company’s merchant operations framework, driving the activation, transaction growth, and retention of cross-border B2B merchants. This role oversees the full merchant lifecycle, including onboarding, KYC/KYB review, transaction monitoring, and compliance management. Based in Hong Kong or Singapore, the Head of Merchant Operations will play a key role in strengthening operational efficiency, ensuring compliance, and enabling the scalable growth of merchant services. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and optimize the merchant operations framework, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability. Drive merchant activation, transaction growth, and retention, ensuring sustainable business performance. Oversee the full merchant lifecycle: onboarding, KYC/KYB review, account setup, transaction monitoring, and ongoing compliance management. Develop data-driven strategies to improve merchant engagement, operational efficiency, and revenue contribution. Collaborate with Product, Treasury, Compliance, and BD teams to deliver smooth and compliant merchant experiences. Establish and maintain policies, SOPs, and controls for merchant operations to meet regulatory and business requirements. Monitor KPIs and prepare regular operational performance reports for management. Build and lead a merchant operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Ensure readiness to support business expansion into new markets with scalable operations infrastructure. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Finance, Operations, or related fields. 5–8 years of operations experience in cross-border payments, cross-border trade, or supply chain finance. Strong knowledge of merchant onboarding, KYC/KYB processes, and compliance frameworks. Proven experience in data analysis, operational strategy, and process optimization. Hands-on experience in building and managing scalable operations systems and teams. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams. Based in Hong Kong, Singapore, or remote, with willingness to travel as needed.
