Senior Hospitality Leader: Owner’s Rep and Strategic BD

Singapore and international portfolio of hospitality assets. Singapore based position, frequent traveling involved.

The Company

Our client is a well-established development company in Singapore with a highly diversified and substantial portfolio of assets across key international markets, including Southeast Asia and Australia. We are seeking a dynamic, business-focused leader to join the ownership team and drive the strategic growth of their hospitality portfolio. This serves as an Owner's Representative role focused heavily on Business Development (BD) , strategy , and asset growth , not day-to-day operations.

The Role: VP of Hospitality (Business Development)

We are looking for an experienced individual to join their team with a specific geographic mandate, a core set of responsibilities and capabilities. This role will report directly to senior leadership and act as a pivotal link between the ownership, brand partners, and project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new hospitality development and acquisition opportunities within the assigned geographical market (Singapore/Indonesia or Australia).
  • Lead complex negotiations for Hospitality Management Agreements (HMAs), joint ventures, and other strategic partnerships. Act as a strong negotiator to achieve optimal terms for the ownership group.
  • Proactively engage with major international operators while maintaining the flexibility to work effectively with any potential partner. Manage these relationships at a senior level to ensure alignment with the owner’s long-term objectives.
  • Leverage prior experience with small-scale HMA issuance under your own brand to inform deal structure and protect owner interests in new agreements.
  • Clearly and compellingly articulate business objectives, investment theses, and value creation strategies to internal stakeholders and potential partners.
  • Serve as the Owner’s Representative for ongoing projects, including managing the current renovation project in the portfolio and driving expansion in priority markets.
  • Immediately manage the successful execution and expansion of projects in respective countries.

The ideal candidates must demonstrate a significant blend of commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and hospitality development experience.

Essential Experience and Skills Required:

  • A Degree/Masters in Hospitality/Hotel Management, BA, Real Estate, Finance or Economics.
  • A highly accomplished BD leader with a proven track record in the hospitality sector.
  • Highly effective at deal origination and strategic negotiations that secure complex partnerships. Expertise spans the full development cycle: branding, revenue strategy, and asset management.
  • Significant experience driving deals and issuing HMAs (on either an owner-brand or operator side). Must be adept at working collaboratively and critically with all major international hotel operators.
  • Deep understanding of the specific market dynamics, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape in Singapore, Indonesia and/or Australia.
  • Driven to maximize owner value through strategic negotiation and the cultivation of crucial, lasting partnerships.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships, both internal and external with tact and influence.
  • Capable of creating and delivering clear, concise, and compelling business presentations and proposals.
  • A proactive mindset focused on identifying new opportunities and driving aggressive but sustainable brand and portfolio expansion.
