In this role, you will be tasked with installing or upgrading components, setting up software, handling network administration, and addressing any IT support issues that may arise.Role OverviewThe IT Support Specialist assumes a crucial role in offering technical assistance and support to users, ensuring the smooth functionality of computer hardware, software, and network systems. The primary objective of this position is to optimize IT performance while delivering an outstanding user experience. Ideal for individuals passionate about technology, adept at resolving IT challenges, and dedicated to assisting others, this role necessitates a blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving acumen, and strong interpersonal skills to provide efficient and dependable support services. Ownership of tasks, effective self-management, and seamless collaboration with a US-based manager are essential components of this role, requiring proactive communication, accountability, and independent work to achieve organizational objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting and Problem Solving- Identify and resolve technical issues related to computer systems, hardware, software, and networks.- Investigate user-reported problems and deliver timely and effective solutions.- Document solutions and procedures to streamline future troubleshooting processes.Technical Support- Provide technical guidance and assistance to users through platforms like the Monday.com IT Helpdesk and Security Incident Helpdesk.- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.- Monitor and ensure the reliability of computer systems and networks.Customer Service- Interact professionally and courteously with users.- Simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical users.- Maintain high levels of user satisfaction with IT services.Additional Duties- Supervise and report on IT infrastructure and security systems.- Aid in hardware/software upgrades by conducting research, recommending optimal solutions, and performing cost analysis.- Manage onboarding/offboarding processes, including equipment procurement/retrieval, profile setup, hardware resets, and cybersecurity training sessions.- Conduct user training on new hardware or software as required.- Handle vendor relationships, including equipment orders, inventory management, license oversight, and contract management.- Develop and update IT policies such as BYOD, Information Security, Change Management, and Acceptable Use.Skills and QualificationsTechnical Skills- Proficient in computer hardware, software, and network systems.- Familiarity with operating systems like Windows, Mac OS, or Linux.- Certifications or expertise in tools such as SharePoint, Monday.com, Microsoft 365 Administration, InTune/JumpCloud, VPNs, and Goto Resolve.- Strong troubleshooting abilities with a solutions-oriented approach.- Understanding of network protocols and security practices.Soft Skills- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with users of varying technical expertise.- Customer service-oriented mindset.- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a global team.Education and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent.- Degree in Computer Science or related field.- Previous experience in a technical support role.- Exposure to a global environment is advantageous.LocationPreferred locations for candidates include India, Dubai - UAE, South Africa, and Europe.Benefits - Why Connor At Connor Consulting International, we prioritize purpose, attention, and a touch of fun in every relationship.
