Research Associate/Research Assistant (Economics) (Part-time) page is loaded## Research Associate/Research Assistant (Economics) (Part-time)locations: NTU Main Campus, Singaporetime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R With the support of the endowment, Albert Winsemius Chair is carrying on the excellent work of his predecessors, the chair professorship focuses on advancing research, training and outreach in the tools and methodology of Cost-Benefit Analysis and applied economics, particularly on applications to policies and regulations encouraging sustainable economic growth and development – all in the spirit of Albert Winsemius's contributions to Singapore.Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for candidates with either Bachelor or Masters training in economics, cost-benefit analysis, public policy, developmental economics and/or related disciplines to support ongoing research project activities under the Albert Winsemius Chair Professorship on part-time basis.This position will report directly to the Albert Winsemius Chair Professor and offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in applied economic research. Attached to the Albert Winsemius Chair and Economic Growth Centre, successful candidates will collaborate closely with the Chair Professor and his team, and perform a variety of functions:**Key Responsibilities*** Conducting literature review on the economic development of Singapore, and state-of-the-art cost-benefit analysis valuation techniques* Assisting in the writing of a book manuscript on the economic development of Singapore* Preparing sections of surveys, experiments, analysis plans, manuscripts, reports and grant proposals* Assisting in conducting surveys, experiments, and data analysis* Support the research projects and activities under the Albert Winsemius Chair: + Measuring Poverty in Singapore (in conjunction with Tier 1 Grant) + Academic events organized under Albert Winsemius Chair + Supporting the chair professor in conferences, workshops and research meetings + Other ongoing and planned research projects* Performing other related duties assigned by the Chair Professor in support of these projects**Job Requirements:*** Bachelor / Master in Economics or related discipline from a research-oriented university* Research experience in Cost-Benefit Analysis, Development Economics, Experimental Economics Public Policy and/or Economic History are highly desirable.* Experience in preparing and conducting quantitative economic surveys, experiments and analysis.* Interest in the history of economic development in Singapore.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders* Able to multi-task and work productively in teams.We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTUNTU is also home to world-class autonomous institutes – the National Institute of Education, S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Earth Observatory of Singapore, and Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering – and various leading research centres such as the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute (NEWRI) and Energy Research Institute @ NTU ( ).Ranked amongst the world's top universities by QS, NTU has also been named the world's top young university for the past seven years.
