
Director of Sales, Equipment

The Director of Sales, Equipment is responsible for driving the overall sales strategy, performance, and growth of the equipment division. This role leads the sales team in delivering solutions that meet customer specifications and maximize revenue through both direct and distribution channels. The Director works closely with VPS of the segments, engineering, and operational teams to ensure that products meet mechanical and electrical requirements. Through consultative selling, the Director will develop ROI-based value propositions and cultivate long-term partnerships with our National Accounts and Key Accounts. The position requires strategic leadership, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering collaboration and driving organizational growth.
Duties and Responsibilities- Exercise strong, proactive, and strategic leadership within the team, utilizing resources throughout the company to achieve/exceed sales targets for all sales channels.
- Effectively communicate with both direct and distribution customers, understanding applications and coordinating with the engineering team.
- Understand customer specifications (mechanical and electrical requirements), create quotations, and support at customer sites.
- Engage in consultative selling, emphasizing ROI and value propositions.
- Visit Key Accounts and National Account headquarters to develop relationships with key decision-makers.
- Demonstrate integrity, business ethics, and mature judgment.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Take ownership, demonstrate initiative, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit within the team.
- Promote collaboration and create an inclusive culture to develop optimal solutions.
- Set and uphold high performance standards, leading by example to motivate the team.
- Drive organizational growth, profitability, and industry leadership.
- Bachelor's degree is a strong plus, preferably in Business or Sales; technical degrees in mechanical or electrical fields are a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the packaging industry.
- Proven track record of developing strategies that preserve margins by selling value, service, and quality, rather than price.
- Experience in consultative selling and building long-term client relationships.
