Job Overview

The School of Health & Social Sciences is seeking a skilled Technical Executive to manage daily operations of nursing laboratories, ensuring they are well maintained and equipped for teaching, learning, and assessment activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, meticulous, and involved in procuring, managing stock control of equipment and supplies, and conducting nursing skills training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of nursing laboratories.
  • Coordinate with academic staff on timetables and equipment needs.
  • Assist in preparing nursing practical sessions and conducting nursing skills training (e.g., mask fitting, BCLS/AED).
  • Procure and manage inventory of equipment and consumables.
  • Collaborate with vendors for equipment demonstrations and instructions.
  • Maintain records of inventory, safety compliance, practical sessions, and lab bookings.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and risk assessments are updated.
  • Support lecturers and students with technical advice and general duties.
  • Perform laboratory maintenance activities to ensure conducive learning environments.
  • Provide technical support to other laboratories, including computer labs.
  • Work with management to improve administration, storage, and requisites for nursing labs.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant qualification in Nursing or a healthcare-related discipline.
  • Healthcare industry experience or internships preferred.
  • Nursing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
