As the Head of Placements, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive placement strategy that aligns with the university's goals. Your role will involve analyzing market trends and student feedback to identify placement opportunities and areas for improvement. Building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of employers, including multinational corporations, startups, and local businesses, will be crucial.You will be organizing recruitment drives, career fairs, and networking events to connect students with potential employers. Providing guidance to students on resume writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies will also be part of your responsibilities. Conducting workshops and seminars to enhance students" employability skills and collaborating with academic departments to understand industry requirements are essential aspects of this role.Additionally, you will work closely with alumni to leverage their networks for placement opportunities, track placement statistics, and maintain a database of job openings and placements. Preparing and presenting regular reports to university leadership on placement activities, outcomes, and trends will be important for monitoring progress.Leading and mentoring a team of placement officers and support staff is a key accountability, along with fostering a positive and collaborative team environment focused on student success. You will establish and enforce policies related to placements and internships, ensuring compliance with university policies and relevant employment regulations. Gathering feedback from students and employers to enhance placement processes and staying updated on industry standards and best practices in career services are also part of this role.In terms of the person specification, you should hold a Master's degree in a related field, with a PhD or equivalent experience in academia being a plus. A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in placement services and career counseling, preferably within a higher education environment, is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational and leadership abilities, and proficiency in using placement management software and tools are essential for success in this role.Personal attributes such as being passionate about student development and career success, an innovative thinker with a proactive problem-solving approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are highly desirable characteristics for the Head of Placements position.,
