Overview Cana Consulting is partnering with a distinct player in the petrochemical industry in recruiting for a Legal Counsel . The candidate will be part of a lean team, reporting to a regional senior counsel. This position will provide broad-based legal support across the Asia-Pacific region. This is an excellent opportunity for corporate legal candidates looking to transit in-house, looking for a stable career . Role Advise business stakeholders on a wide spectrum of legal matters, including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and employment matters. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (e.g., sales, distribution, procurement, joint ventures, and supply chain contracts). Provide legal support for cross-border transactions, strategic projects, and corporate initiatives. Monitor and advise on regulatory and legislative developments in Asia, particularly in China, and assess their impact on business operations. Partner with compliance teams on anti-bribery, competition, sanctions, and data protection issues. Manage disputes and litigation, working closely with external counsel where required. Deliver legal training to internal stakeholders to raise awareness of compliance and risk issues. Support the General Counsel and wider legal team on global or regional projects. Requirements Called to Bar, 3-5PQE Primarily non-contentious, corporate law background (General Corporate, Corporate Governance, M&A) Due to nature of regional coverage and stakeholders that the candidate will have to manage, experiences in the China market would be an advantage Attitude to learn and to collaborate in a small team Aptitude to pick up things fast and learn on the job Additional Notes This role offers a stable career but the structure is pretty flat. Hence, progression comes in the form of job exposure and broad scope coverage.
