Our client is a distinguished energy trading company with a global presence, seeking to expand its Legal, Risk, and Compliance team. The role involves providing legal advice across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas on various B2B, contractual, and transactional matters, supporting the Chief Legal Officer and Head of Risk.
Location: Switzerland, France & Singapore
The Legal Counsel will oversee legal affairs worldwide, including contracts, litigation, intellectual property, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Responsibilities- Identify and analyze compliance risks, including conflict of interest, anti-trust, anti-corruption, and anti-bribery issues; conduct risk mitigation measures such as counterparty screening, sanctions checks, due diligence, risk assessments, and audits.
- Design and conduct compliance training and implement programs to raise awareness internally and externally.
- Monitor and review the compliance management system to ensure adherence to US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Anti-Bribery Act, and OECD Convention against Corruption.
- Provide compliance and organizational advice to management and staff.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, regulatory filings, drafting resolutions, and managing documentation.
- Support drafting legal and financing agreements for projects.
- Review vendor agreements, NDAs, and MOUs, managing documentation and signing processes.
- Collaborate with outside counsel to handle legal and compliance issues efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Reputable law degree.
- 4-6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house within a mid-sized multinational, focusing on commercial, corporate, or financial transactions.
- International experience and success.
- Strong commitment to compliance, integrity, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Proficiency in English; expertise in financing transactions.
- Proficiency in French or Portuguese.
