Overview The Regional Procurement Director (Europe/Singapore/Americas) is responsible for all Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, Supplier Contract Governance, and Indirect spending activities in the Region. The primary objective is to source, negotiate and manage suppliers in these regions in a way that minimizes the Company’s overall costs. This position ensures alignment with global material sourcing and procurement strategies to effectively meet Bio-Rad’s operational needs. This role leads a team of procurement and purchasing professionals responsible for indirect materials and services, including but not limited to IT, Facilities, building and construction services, printing, janitorial services, Cap Ex equipment and direct materials (inventory items) in support of manufacturing sites in the region. Works in partnership with Global Commodity Management on sourcing strategies for materials in support of manufacturing and OEM/Resale finished products in support of demand. Responsible for supplier development and supplier quality within the region in accordance with global policies and procedures. What You’ll Do Develop and execute global sourcing programs and strategies within the Region Directly coordinate these strategies through the regional and global teams, where appropriate Plan, develop and buy materials, parts, supplies, services and equipment in a timely and cost effective way, while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications Ensure supplier compliance with site and company-wide requirements through appropriate use and application of commodity strategies, procurement processes, supplier relations and metrics including quality provider services, delivered to plan, at the right price. Ensure suppliers meet applicable regulatory requirements. Collaborate and align with all internal and external business partners to meet all business objectives and goals Identify and drive supply chain productivity initiatives across all respective business segments Work with third party sourcing providers to utilize formal sourcing methodologies to consolidate suppliers, establish preferred relationships and leveraged supply arrangements within respective region Collaborate with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for maintaining good business relations with suppliers Track and monitor performance against appropriate Procurement KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) Hire, train and develop staff of procurement professionals to meet the needs of the business What You Bring While this list of qualifications may help an employee to succeed in this position, capable candidates may have a wide range of backgrounds or skills. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Management, Supply Chain, or related discipline Over 10 years' procurement experience in Life Science, Medical Device, or related industries More than 5 years of experience leading /managing others in strategic sourcing with experience supporting a multi-state matrix organization Experience providing procurement support to executive clients Professional certification in procurement or sourcing a plus Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with the ability to drive results Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence senior management through effective communication and persuasive positioning Solid organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks in an environment with large volumes of data Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities from conception to completion in a fast-paced, global matrix-organization team environment Effective project management discipline and oversight capability Six Sigma / Lean trained, a plus Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite Experience with ERP; SAP experience a plus Who We Are For 70 years, Bio-Rad has focused on advancing the discovery process and transforming the fields of science and healthcare.
